Last night, with a great speech to Congress, President Trump reminded us all that he is a man of action, calling for Congress to work closely with the Administration as we reimagine government from top to bottom. Our 200-day plan focuses on lifting regulatory burdens, repealing and replacing Obamacare, tax reform, and strengthening our military. With his leadership, and your trust and support, we’ll get the job done.
I am so proud of my longtime friend Grant Peterson. Grant has dedicated himself to our nation and the fifth congressional district. I am continually amazed by all he has accomplished and will continue to accomplish for this state and the people of Eastern Washington. Congratulations, Grant!
It's great to see that the Chewelah Center for the Arts is up for a state Building for the Arts grant! The grant will allow the center to provide a better space for more community events like school plays, car shows, art gallery showings, music concerts, and many more events.
When I heard of the closure of the Kettle Falls Marina, I reached out to the Pacific West Regional Director of the National Park Service to oppose this decision. It will not only cause serious harm to the local Kettle Falls community, but will have a detrimental impact on visitors who have enjoyed vacationing at Kettle Falls Marina for years. There is a clear need for these marina services and I’ll continue to work to keep the marina open.
I would like to thank the Internet Association for having me as their first guest to discuss Congress's involvement with 21st century technologies. I have encouraged my peers in Congress to utilize social media as a communication tool, and have used systems like Google Hangouts to engage with students in classrooms across Eastern Washington. Through legislation I co-authored, we have been able to push for off the shelf technologies to be adopted to help fix issues at the VA.
