VA Failure to Report Poor-Performing Doctors

Our veterans were willing to put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms - now its our turn to give them the care they deserve. This is why I've introduced legislation that requires VA medical staff to report directly to state licensing boards when they witness unethical or unacceptable behavior.

Passage of Historic Tax Reform Bill

Yesterday was a historic day in the U.S. House of Representatives. For the first time in 31 years, we passed legislation that fundamentally reforms our tax code and provides real relief to hard working Americans. I was honored to cast my vote for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which simplifies our broken tax code, provides immediate tax relief for families and small businesses and will bring jobs back to America.

These middle class tax cuts will help Eastern Washington small businesses hire more people, help family farms grow, and put more money in the pockets of hard working Americans.

Passing the Resilient Federal Forests Act

Yesterday I helped pass the Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2017. The U.S. Forest Service has warned us that our forests are in terrible shape. Overregulation has hindered forest management and has increased the risk for devastating fires. This legislation will help to create healthier, more resilient forests.

Tax reform is a must pass

We haven't had real tax reform in over 30 years. Too often taxes are a burden on every day, hardworking Americans. Our plan will simplify the tax code, reduce taxes for the middle class, jumpstart investment and create more jobs.
