SPOKANE, Wash. – Cathy McMorris Rodgers is working to rebuild trust and confidence in representative government, and that starts with getting results for the people she represents. In her latest TV ad, which begins airing today throughout Eastern Washington, Cathy shows how she’s an independent voice for Eastern Washington and highlights her record of results. Like when she forced federal bureaucrats to give Eastern Washington more control of our forests, stood up to the extremists to defend our dams, and brought more primary care doctors, OBGYNs, and psychiatrists to address our doctor shortage in rural and underserved areas by extending and expanding funding for residencies at the Spokane Teaching Health Center.

“Eastern Washington and Washington, D.C. are worlds apart with different values and different priorities,” said Cathy. “I work for you, and that’s why I am standing up for Eastern Washington in our nation’s capital and passing bills that put our interests first and rein in big government to return decision-making to our local communities.”

In the last seven months alone, Cathy has seen ten of her bills pass the House and five of them signed into law to get results for the people she represents. From bringing more doctors to Eastern Washington, to delivering results for veterans and military families, to supporting small businesses to providing more opportunities for people with disabilities, these bills make a positive difference in the lives of people in Eastern Washington.

A descendant of Oregon Trail pioneers, Cathy is the fifth generation of the McMorris family to call the Pacific Northwest home. She was the first in her family to graduate from college and worked for 13 years in the family orchard and fruit stand in Kettle Falls. She was the 200th woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and is the only woman to give birth three times while serving. Cathy and her husband, Brian, retired Navy carrier pilot, live in Spokane with their three children - Cole, Grace and Brynn.

This is Cathy’s fourth ad of her reelection campaign. Her previous ads “Mom,” “Every Day,” and “Delivered” all highlight Cathy’s deep roots in Eastern Washington, her record of results, and her commitment to the people she represents.
