Fifteen years ago today, our nation suffered an unforgettable tragedy. Nearly 3,000 people died as a results of terrorist attacks on that fateful day. My heart feels heavy today when I think of the men, women, and children that lost their lives in result and the families that had to deal with that loss in the aftermath.
I am continually grateful for the men and women who serve to protect us, both abroad and here at home. Never forget what our nation has suffered. Never forget the principles that are at stake — life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. As we did in the aftermath of September 11, we must unite as Americans and cherish the freedoms that so many have died to preserve.
