SPOKANE, Wash. – Cathy McMorris Rodgers raised $1,657,987 million in the second quarter of 2018, breaking her previous fundraising record set in the first quarter of the year. That total includes $1,143,000 for her 2018 re-election campaign, increasing her cash on hand to $1,703,000. 83.2% percent of her contributors call Washington state home -- more than 2,700 individual contributions.
“I’m getting a lot of positive feedback from people who are excited about my record of results and want to keep our momentum going,” Cathy said. “Eastern Washington deserves someone who represents their values and interests, and I’m grateful to have earned the trust of so many hardworking men and women here in our community.”
The first two quarters of 2018 have been the largest fundraising quarters since Cathy’s time in office. Since January 2018, Cathy has raised nearly $3 million, including nearly $2 million for her re-election campaign. This marks the third quarter in a row that Cathy has seen record-breaking financial support.
Cathy’s record financial support is also being matched by growing grassroots momentum. Earlier this month, Cathy launched coalitions of Agriculture Leaders and Veterans, and a Women’s Coalition branded Cathy Represents ME. The Women’s Coalition is community-driven, and to-date hundreds of women and counting have held rallies to celebrate Cathy and show their support for her record of results and unique brand of positive, trust-building politics.
