Cathy visited Fairchild recently to salute service members and their families.        

  • Fairchild AFB: Cathy has been a consistent advocate for Fairchild AFB and has come out strongly against development that would encroach on Fairchild, endangering its mission in decades to come.
    • Secured Funding to support and expand the world-class Survival Evasion Resistance Escape Program,
    • Continue to advocare to bring the KC-X tanker to Fairchild and expand mission.
  • Strengthened the Visa Waiver Program to protect the homeland: The annual budget passed with Cathy’s support in December. It tightens the security requirements under the Visa Waiver program and denies visa waiver status to any individual who has traveled to certain terrorist hotspots, including Syria and Iraq, in the last five years.
  • Preventing the transfer of Guantanamo detainees to American soil: Cathy supported provisions in the budget that prohibit funds from being used to transfer terrorist detainees from Guantanamo Bay to the United States.
  • NDAA Funding for Fairchild: Despite a veto by President Obama, Cathy helped get the National Defense Authorization Act passed and signed into law. It included funding for Fairchild, important weapons systems and an improved retirement program for existing service members. 
  • The Justice for Victims of Iranian Terrorism Act: Cathy supported this bill that blocks lifting Iranian economic sanctions until it honors the settlements ordered by U.S. courts to pay $43 billion in damages to victims caused by terrorist acts it supported.
