Federal Grant Helps Spokane Hire 50 New Firefighters and Expand Medical Services

Congratulations to the City of Spokane - Municipal Government for making good use of a nearly $9 million federal grant allowing the city to hire 50 new firefighters and expand medical services. This is funding I fought for, working across the aisle as your representative.

Now, the city can continue its acclaimed ARU program -- sending teams driving sport-utility vehicles to less-urgent medical calls and freeing up up personnel and fire equipment for more urgent fire and medical calls. You can read more about it here
