Energy
The United States is blessed with tremendous energy resources – including the greatest resource of all: the ingenuity of the free American mind. And yet right now, we as a nation import $400 billion of energy every year. Instead of borrowing money from China to buy oil from Saudi Arabia, we should keep those energy dollars here in America for American jobs.
That is why I support the Keystone XL Pipeline. This project has bipartisan support and would create 100,000 jobs at a time when our economy is fragile. It would also reduce our dangerous dependence on oil from the Middle East.
Unfortunately, President Obama rejected this job-creating, shovel-ready project. At a time when America needs an economic boost and lower energy costs, the Administration has obstructed a project that would do both.
Despite the President’s decision, the House of Representatives will continue to advocate for pro-growth and pro-energy policies. Keystone will remain a part of our agenda.
