SPOKANE, Wash. – Cathy McMorris Rodgers today released her newest TV ad, “Cat,” which shows how she is continuing to deliver results that make a real, sometimes life-saving impact in the lives of people in Eastern Washington. In this ad airing across the Inland Northwest, Spokane resident Cat Davis tells her own story. As she says, “I was dying and I needed help. When I told Cathy my story she just looked me in the eye and said ‘I want to help you...’ She doesn’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican, she’s going to be there for you and she’s going to stand by you. Cathy McMorris Rodgers saved my life.”

“My job is to get things done for people here in Eastern Washington,” said Cathy. “Whether that means passing bills that help local veterans, farmers, or small businesses, or helping people get what they need from large and unresponsive federal agencies, my number one priority is the people of Eastern Washington. That’s what happened with Cat. When I met her, she was unable to get Medicare to approve a life-saving treatment. It was her last option, and she was being stonewalled by a federal agency when she needed care. So we went to work. I put the pressure on Medicare, and after weeks of work, her procedure was approved.”

This is Cathy’s newest ad of her reelection campaign. Her previous ads “Mom,” “Every Day,” “Delivered,” “Two,” and “Them,” all highlight Cathy’s deep roots in Eastern Washington, her record of results, and her commitment to the people she represents.

A descendant of Oregon Trail pioneers, Cathy is the fifth generation of the McMorris family to call the Pacific Northwest home. She was the first in her family to graduate from college and worked for 13 years in the family orchard and fruit stand in Kettle Falls. She was the 200th woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and is the only woman to give birth three times while serving. Cathy and her husband, Brian, retired Navy carrier pilot, live in Spokane with their three children - Cole, Grace and Brynn.
