Thank you for your support and all you do for Eastern Washington. This is truly a team effort.
Campaigns are about people. Issues and money are important but people are the foundation of any campaign. And I am thankful for the people who have been part of my campaign and Republican campaigns throughout Eastern Washington.
You have knocked on hundreds of doors, made thousands of phone calls, walked in parades and helped keep us on track. Tonight's victory is our victory. I would not be here today without your confidence, your vote and mostly your hard work. Thank you.
Representing Eastern Washington in Congress continues to be an honor and I thank you for reelecting me for another term. Tonight's results show that people want Democrats and Republicans to work together to solve some of our most pressing challenges.
I look forward to continuing my work with Republicans, Democrats and you to advance what’s important to Eastern Washington, like:
--Strengthening our economy by restoring trust and accountability to Wall Street;
--Lowering energy costs through increased conservation, innovation and development of American energy resources;
--Increasing access to quality, affordable health care and protecting Eastern Washington doctors and pharmacies;
--Expanding the role of Fairchild Air Force Base;
--Ensuring Eastern Washington veterans receive the care they deserve;
--Encouraging every child and adult with Down syndrome and other special needs to live up to their full potential.
I will continue to work with Democrats if they are serious about changing the way our government works. But I stand ready to fight for Eastern Washington if they try to take out our dams, lock up our natural resources, and raise taxes. We can’t let them do that if we want to see our Eastern Washington families, businesses and communities prosper.
I truly believe there is more that unites us than divides us, which is why I have worked to bring people together and work with Republicans, Democrats and Independents to get real results.
